Fort Worth Bee & Wasp Control
Bees, wasps, hornets, yellow jackets, and other flying and stinging insects are a common sight around the DFW Metroplex, and this is an uncomfortable fact for many people. In addition to their painful stings, flying insect venom can be extremely dangerous for those who are allergic to their venom. A single sting for the wrong individual could trigger an allergic reaction, causing a dire medical emergency.
At Western Exterminating, we understand that stinging insects are more than just a nuisance that brings down your quality of life by making your outdoor spaces much less welcoming—they are also a major threat to your home. They can damage your home’s materials and even invade your peaceful indoor space, causing stress and frustration. Our stinging insect control services are designed to mitigate these ongoing threats and allow you to enjoy your home or business to the fullest—both inside and out.
Call Western Exterminating at (817) 391-4576 today and stop your ongoing struggle with stinging insects.
Bee Control & Management in DFW
While they are an essential part of our ecosystem, honey bees can be potentially violent nesters. They are generally docile when left alone, but they can become aggressive quickly if they feel their nest is threatened. Honey bees like to create hives in trees, tall bushes, or even along the eves of a building or home. If they’re able to find their way in, they can sometimes even build a nest in an attic or chimney. From there, removing the issue is exceedingly more difficult, and it isn’t uncommon for bees to frequently make their way down into your home in search of food or other resources. Give Western Exterminating a call! We offer bee control services that help remove your issue and improve your defense against intruding stinging bugs.
Stop the Forming of Wasp Nests
Unlike honey bees, wasps or yellow jackets are highly aggressive and have been known to charge at humans with little to no provocation. They are capable of stinging multiple times without issue, and they are aggressive, carnivorous hunters drawn to meat and rotting flesh. DFW is home to numerous species of wasps, particularly paper wasps that build paper-like nests around door overhangs, roof eaves, windows, and even outdoor light fixtures or fans.
Western Exterminating can take care of these stinging pests for you. Not only do we have the training and materials to safely and strategically eliminate existing nests, wherever they are, but we also offer helpful tips, advice, and treatments to help prevent the issue from coming back anytime soon. Our mission is to help your home or business remain a peaceful and tranquil haven, free from the ongoing threat of stinging insects.
Cicada Killer Wasps
Cicada killer wasps are large, ground-dwelling wasps found fairly commonly throughout the DFW metroplex. They get their name from their proclivity for hunting cicadas, stinging and paralyzing them before consuming them and using them to feed their nests. While their name alone is terrifying, their appearance definitely justifies their reputation—cicada killers can measure up to two inches in length, with females usually being slightly larger than males.
However, despite their intimidating name and appearance, cicada killer wasps are generally docile, especially compared to other wasps and other stinging insects. For starters, these wasps are ground-dwelling, creating their nests in underground burrows rather than up high in trees and on eaves. Females are also generally solitary, meaning they are typically found alone rather than in large nests. Also, despite their size, these wasps are generally harmless to humans. Males, while aggressive with one another, cannot sting and will ignore humans entirely. Females will also largely ignore humans unless they are stepped on, grasped, or caught in clothing. Further, their sting has been described as not being all that painful.
